The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has brought smiles to residents of Anipupo community in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State with the commissioning of a Special Intervention Project that provides 30 solar-powered streetlights, an industrial borehole, and a 35,000-litre water storage facility.

The project was officially unveiled on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in honour of AVM Abidemi Marquis, as part of NAF’s ongoing efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and improve the welfare of rural communities.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar (represented by Chief of Civil-Military Relations, AVM Ibikunle Daramola), said the intervention aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

> “By providing clean water and lighting up Anipupo, we are reinforcing the bond of trust between the Force and the people,” he said.

AVM Marquis, visibly touched by the project in his hometown, described it as a “seed for sustainable development” and urged residents to safeguard the facilities.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, praised NAF for setting “a shining example of partnership that transforms lives.” He noted that the facilities would improve security, livelihoods, and living standards in the area.

Community leaders and residents also expressed joy, saying access to clean water and improved street lighting would ease hardship and boost community safety at night.

With this initiative, the Nigerian Air Force has once again demonstrated that its mission goes beyond combat—it is about touching lives and uplifting communities. 🌍💡💧
