In a moving show of respect and remembrance, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) recently hosted a nationwide Veterans’ Parley — an event designed not only to honour those who served but to reaffirm a lasting commitment to their legacy.

In Bayelsa, Retired Master Warrant Officer Apreala Edmund shared his thoughts with quiet pride:

> “We didn’t serve for applause, but today we feel acknowledged. This gesture from the NAF reassures us that our sacrifices still count.”

Further north in Kano, another veteran described the moment as

> “A humbling reminder of the heritage we once defended with our lives. It’s uplifting to know our service remains respected.”

The event echoed across all participating regions — uniting past and present in one meaningful dialogue. It wasn’t just a ceremony; it was a heartfelt reconnection, blending stories of bravery with a renewed sense of community and purpose.

By decentralizing the parley across multiple states, the NAF made it clear: appreciating veterans is not a once-a-year duty, but an ongoing responsibility woven into the fabric of the Force’s future.

As the Nigerian Air Force looks ahead — with a focus on modernization, operational excellence, and national resilience — it remains anchored in the unwavering service of its veterans. The CAS Veterans’ Parley, in its spirit and substance, illuminated a path forward where honour, unity, and gratitude are not forgotten virtues, but guiding lights.
